Homework 14

The Motrin Mom Advertisement

A lot of mom's were offended by this advertisement used by Motrin. This happened because they used the word 'crazy' to describe mom's and their tag-line We feel your pain was offensive to some mom's. Also they associated baby wearing as a fashion and with pain making it seem like it is a bad thing. The mom's thought that Motrin should have reached out to the community to find out how they really feel about baby-wearing, so they began to boycott. In turn, Motrin pulled the advertisement and tried to apologize by saying ""With regard to the recent Motrin advertisement, we have heard you . . . please accept our sincere apology," reads the message signed by Kathy Widmer, the company's vice president of marketing." (Washington Post) I feel like the previous apology was not very effective, as a PR person I would have been very person especially because mother's were very emotional about this. I would have given my true apologies and feelings, and also I would have probably used a video so the people could see that I was really sorry. Overall I think this all could have been prevented if Motrin was more on the ball with their marketing department, big mistake.

Homework 13

The catalogue that i received was the Victoria's Secret catalogue. I am pretty sure that at some point i signed up to get this catalogue in the mail, or I know that every-time you shop
there, you have to give them your phone number. I think that they definitely did a good job by sending me this catalogue because looking through it made me realize all the things that I am going to get from the store. The graphics and text are very visually appealing. The girls make the clothes look very good, so I want to buy them and the text is very feminine and pretty. I think that them sending out this catalogue is a really good idea because when I thought about it, I really do not receive any other one's. I am a big magazine person so it is good for me to see something like this because I really like the look and feel. After checking the website i found where you can Request a Catalogue

Homework11

Online Coupons!

On my search for the best online coupon's I came across a website that I really liked! You can search for over 900,000 printable coupons, and I think the best part is that you can search for coupon code's which are the codes that you can type into websites when you are shopping online. Many for free shopping or discounts, it is called Retail Me Not .

Also a similar site that I really liked was Coupon Cabin
Some of the statistics that they give on their website: CouponCabin.com™ shop
pers have clicked 147,288,027 coupons & deals since our August '03 launch. And The average CouponCabin shopper spends
88 seconds on the site andsaves $16 per order.
Wow that is a lot of saving for every customer! After searching around on their website I found a coupon for Bath and Body Works $10 off a purchase of $40 or more! That ten dollars may not seem like a lot, but it will really add up if you are spending a lot of money!
They also have a section of this website for free samples. For example they have a link to take you to a website where you can sign up for a free week gym membership, or a few free MP3 downloads from amazon.com. They even have a free krispe kreme donut sample when you bring this coupon into the store.

Another example, the website Dealtaker.com puts the power in the people and has a section for people to post where they have seen good deals, gotten free stuff, or post other coupons that they have found to work for them. I think this is important because you can see people just like you, and knowing it worked for them is reassuring.  Also below is some printable coupon's that you can use right in the grocery store which is what I know a lot of people are looking for, and they can be scanned right at the register.

Homework 10

Bed Bath and Beyond
<-The point of purchase display to the left is for light bulbs and slash lights. It is in the main walk way of the store right when you walk in. It's very interesting because it has all the different types of light bulbs that you can imagine, and underneath that you can see all of the flashlights that you would like. It is very eye catching because if you do not know what type of light-bulb that you want, you have a big selection and you can compare all of them.

-> The POP display to the right is my favorite one that i found in this store! It is right by the register's, there is actually a register on the right side of it, but it was not in use. They have all different kinds of candy, and other random things that are very typical to the impulse buy. They have also some of the items from the 'As seen on TV section' by the register because if you did not visit that section in the store you can recognize those items by the register and possibly remember that you wanted to buy it when you saw it on TV. I think this one was the most effective in the store mostly because of its placement. It is by not only the register's but the entrance / exit.

<-To the left I wanted to show this POP display of cards because I did not see one card on this rack that was not vibrant colored. When I saw it I went over there to look at the cards even though I did not need a card. This is important because next time that I need a card I will think of Bed Bath and Beyond to get it. Also in the background of this picture you can see the really intere
sting wall display they had of products. They had them going almost all the way to the ceiling, and it looked really interesting. I also went over there just to look at the products because of their interesting display's.

->This one to the right is a display of laptop cases, and I took a picture of it because I just thought it was funny how the 4th one down on the right is noticeably turned over. People notice these things and it looks messy!
